Job Description

We are seeking a Training Manager to lead a global, multi-functional training program. This role will be accountable for developing a training strategy that addresses the training needs of GBS service providers and service consumers, and prepares them for success on the new GBS platform. The Training Manager will oversee execution of this strategy through effective knowledge management, instructional design, training material development, training delivery and training effectiveness tracking.

The Training Manager will consult functional teams to effectively shape and apply the training strategy, approach, roadmap, tools and templates to function-specific plans. She/He will oversee the functional training plan across regions and locations in partnership with Function/Capability Transformation Leads and Site Readiness Leads. This individual will work with the Director of Organizational Change as well as talent, communications and program leaders to align training activities with overall transition & readiness plans.


This is a highly visible role that requires an experienced training professional who has excelled in designing and delivering training in complex programs, can establish themself quickly as a trusted advisor, and has a strong track record of success in organizational change, employee engagement and business readiness. The success of their efforts will result in associates who are prepared to succeed on the new GBS platform and business partners who understand how to interact with the new service model.

What You Will Do:

Training Strategy & Approach

  • Oversee a training needs assessment for impacted GBS teams, partners and stakeholders
  • Oversee assessment of existing training materials and approaches to determine fit for future purpose
  • Advise on Knowledge Management strategy & tool selection to support long term GBS training effectiveness globally
  • Collaborate with the One Company/GBS Talent and HR teams to align training with GBS Onboarding and Development/Skill Building learning programs

Training Design and Development

  • Lead a team of Instructional Designers to collaborate with function and business subject matter experts (SMEs) and design learner-focused, consistent and effective future state GBS training materials, engagement opportunities and assessments
  • Ensure GBS training program quality through a structured and measurable framework

Training Delivery

  • Create and deliver a Train the Trainer program to activate local trainers for GBS training delivery
  • Advise GBS Site Readiness Leads on effective training delivery and tracking approach
  • Report training development & delivery status & effectiveness to GBS, One Company and Function leadership

Resource Management

  • Hire, mentor and oversee work of Ecolab Instructional Designers
  • Manage contracts and oversee work planning & quality output for one or more third party providers
  • Ensure active participation of business and functional SMEs in the requirements gathering, material development & review, and delivery of training

Governance and Quality Assurance

  • Consolidate & report status, risk and issues related to training development, delivery & results across all deployments
  • Monitor effectiveness of training activities and coordinate updates to plans and activities as necessary to achieve transformation program objectives


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organization Psychology, Business Administration or related field
  • 7 years of experience managing best practice training design and delivery
  • 3 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Experienceworking with established training principles and methodologies such as ADDIE
  • Experience with the implementation of training programs to support large complex projects (e.g., ERP Systems, business transformation, business process reengineering, shared services, outsourcing solutions, etc.)
  • Experience in managing the details of complex programs and delivering results
  • Proficient with learning and knowledge management tools such as Workday Learning, Viva, Core+, Sharepoint, MS Teams
  • Proficient with training development tools, video production, assessment creation and gamification for learning
  • Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ecolab GBS experience and/or experience in Customer Service, Supply Chain, HR functions
  • Change Management certification (CCMP, Prosci ADKAR, or equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate collaboration
  • Proven track record of influencing and negotiation skills that inspire trust and quickly build credibility between key stakeholders
  • Ability to work well between functions and across all levels of the business, including coaching aptitude at the senior management, department management and staff line levels
  • Proven experience driving progress and the ability to interpret, develop and present information to multiple audiences, and understands and anticipates reactions as a means to determining needs
