Summary of Job Duties:The TRiO UB Instructors will develop curriculum that will enhance the participants' overall academic development in various subjects like science, math, study skills, reading/English. This position lasts six weeks during the summer with possible opportunities to instruct in the following academic year during Saturday Academies. The candidates will report to the TRiO Upward Bound Curriculum Coordinator. (This position are grant funded.)

General Tasks

* Plans and implements classroom education for participants;
* Designs and implements career awareness, exploration and interesting activities that are specific to the academic year and/or the summer sessions;
* Provides leadership, discipline, and positive energy;

Special Requirements
Evening hours, weekends, and/or work extended hours during special eventsQualifications:

* a bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required;

* a minimum of one year of experience in teaching with direct work experience with disadvantaged and diverse student populations;

* experience in planning and executing academic programs;

* strong written and oral communication skills.

* preferred work experience with students of first-generation and low-income.
