In this role you will be responsible for applying IT (Information Technology) knowledge and expertise to help solving complex technical or professional activities. This position provides support and services related to software, hardware, databases, web resources, networks and enterprise systems. #LI-Onsite

This position reports to

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Provide first level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and network issues in a diverse user environment (example Engineering, Manufacturing, Financial, Quality and Maintenance)
  • Work with team members in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple dependencies (Databases, software products, computer hardware and peripherals, etc.)
  • Install and configure desktops, laptops, tablets, peripherals and other hardware for shop users
  • Install and maintain network equipment
  • Installation and maintenance of shop connectivity
  • Support BUS (Baldor Unified System) users as a liaison with other internal support staff
  • Ensure data backups are being performed
  • Support plant paging systems
  • Requisition computer equipment to support plant operations and advise on software and hardware upgrades
  • Supports Lean Flex Flow initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
Your background

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science related studies required and minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of servers, networks, printer architectures and application landscapes preferred
  • Knowledge with windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products
  • BUS/SAP, Engineering Graphics and Quality System software experience desirable
  • Must be creative, flexible in hours and self motivated with excellent team working skills
  • Requires strong follow up skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team oriented person with strong interpersonal, communication and cross functional working skills
  • Ability to work in an aggressive due date environment
  • Effective work across multiple projects is mandatory
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
