We are pipelining candidates for a future role. ***Contingent upon Contract Award***

Valiant is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for W-TRS. Potential locations could include: California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Korea, and potential additional CONUS locations.

Essential job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools.
  • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles, and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.
  • Welds broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Document all maintenance actions by inputting data into the ISTS.

Mental/Physical requirements for this role include:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as appropriate. Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain) and at height.
  • Willing to work a flexible workweek.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and maintain post driving privileges.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to gain access to military installation.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot basic electronics.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • US citizenship is required. Possess an Active Secret US Government Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • (5) years' experience with Heavy Equipment Maintenance

Desired Skills:

  • Previous Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) experience highly
