Estimator

Estimators acquire material pricing and labor estimates from approved sources and integrate it into a quotation submittal format and work with labor estimators, engineering, and operations.

Job Summary

  • Review specifications, drawings,customer material and verbal instructions toprepare information forquotes.
  • They create and enter bills of material requirements into, Polydyne,the bid system data base.
  • Solicit appropriate vendors for material pricing and submit requests for quotes.
  • Obtain labor estimates.
  • Create and maintain a material file for estimates.
  • Reviewing quotes for accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and specifications
  • Planning and organization skills-prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including e-mail, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Analytical skills to prepare most competitive/profitable proposal
  • Understanding MFG drawings; Able to convert and read CAD, Gerber data
  • Understand bill of material structures
  • Understanding of electronic component verbiage; Understanding of basic circuit board process (Thru Hole, SMT)Work closely with Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineers

Required Experience and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Engineering related Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years progressive experience performing estimating functions or B.S. in Industrial Engineering
