The Peer-to-Peer Mentor, part time grant funded position, will serve as the Community Champion of Health for their prospective communities. Duties include reporting to the project coordinator, assist the Mobile Team with logistics, communication, scheduling, preparing materials, engaging specialists, and finalizing plans for all workshops/learning communities.

Responsibilities
    Peer Mentorship: Provide one-on-one peer support to new mothers participating in Maternal Child Health and Wellness Learning Communities.
  • Learning Objective Reinforcement: Reinforce and build upon the learning objectives covered in workshops to ensure practical application and understanding.
  • Preventative Screening: Assist in scheduling preventative health screenings and assessments for both mothers and children.
  • Mentorship: Offer guidance and mentorship on various aspects of maternal and child health, promoting positive health behaviors and practices.
  • Referral Facilitation: Identify needs and facilitate appropriate referrals to community resources and services, ensuring comprehensive support for mothers and families.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for ongoing evaluation and reporting purposes.
Qualifications

Demonstration of community service and engagement

  • Experience in organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with organizing virtual meetings (Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.)
