SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Janitorial Lead is responsible for the daily custodial operation of their assigned facility. The Janitorial Lead performs work cleaning and supporting daily activities. The Lead demonstrates professional behavior, promoting positive relationships amongst their team. Specific responsibilities for Janitorial Supervisor will be determined by client expectations, account manager discretion, and janitorial lead capabilities and experience.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
  • Make sure the scope of work is followed and done properly.
  • Make sure all cleaning supplies and consumables are ordered and on site.
  • Actively recruit for open/vacant positions.
  • Assist new hires in completing paperwork and ensure they receive the proper training.
  • Communicates effectively with team and supervisors and attends mandatory meetings for the purpose of conveying and receiving information.
  • Engage in staff management processes such as work scheduling, performance monitoring, and safety/operations training
  • Make sure all inspections are completed on time and any failures have been corrected.
  • Prioritize tasks that need immediate attention and properly allocate work responsibilities among team.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements and creation of schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels.
  • Manages timekeeping for team including approving and tracking PTO, and tracking time for out of scope/project work.
  • Ability to train custodians on work-related equipment.
  • Promotes a safety-first culture and responds to safety concerns immediately
  • Ensures all equipment is in proper working order including carts, steam cleaners, etc.
  • Perform any additional duties on an "as required" basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, responsiveness, attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in working supervision of custodial and related employees performing cleaning functions in major facilities.
  • Must have general hands-on knowledge of both routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services.
  • Must possess adequate knowledge of technical skills and techniques required by this contract, and will be able to recognize circumstances under which cleaning techniques may be hazardous to the facility or personnel.
  • High School education or equivalent preferred.
  • Must read, write and speak the English language, bilingual ability may be required.
  • COVID-19 health and safety knowledge preferred, including the use of fogging tools and equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS and/or PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Employee must be able to operate golf carts and other vehicles and frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Generally this job requires 5% sitting, 80% walking, and 15% standing.There also may be significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and some stooping, kneeling, crouching. Use of stairs may be required.
