Position Summary

The Package Quality Technician is in place to perform standard quality analysis, monitor supplier quality, and investigate quality problems. The technician is tasked with performing, monitoring and data entry for quality testing and procedures, relating to package and product, full goods as well as supplies. This individual will be the quality assessor, acting as a direct support to the Bottling and Material Handling Departments. The Package Quality Lead Technician will perform investigations in response to consumer complaints as well as leading supply testing and projects. Documentation and maintenance of specifications are a key responsibility.

Accountabilities

Conformance to Packaging Specifications:

  • Analyze and report package samples for specification verification
  • Reduced System Non-conformances
  • Rework and Product Losses
  • Report SPC data for bottling lab and packaging characteristics
  • New package testing

Conformance of Dry Supplies to Specifications:

  • Ability to analyze supply samples for conformance to specifications
  • Knowledge of specifications and historical files
  • Responsible for record maintenance for dry supply conformance

Investigation and Resolution of Non-Standard Supplies:

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot production issues resulting in unacceptable quality
  • Responsible for direct communication to suppliers for resolution and quality assurance
  • Ability to relate specifications to current samples for conformance

Compliance to Plant GMP & Hygiene Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to GMP standards plant wide during production

Special Projects , Continuous Improvement:

  • Design and develop experiments targeting quality assurance, PRPS
  • Develop recommendations for system improvements
  • Provide analysis for utilization of current equipment
  • Provide research for utilization of new technology
  • Utilize Maintenance Connection as needed to input WO's in order to drive repairs aimed towards improving performance

EH&S:

  • Support the Pernod Ricard Safety Culture initiative and report any safety risk or concerns to department management
  • Must follow written PPE requirements and abide by all safety guidelines outlined in procedures and work instructions
  • Employees are required to report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately. These would include all non-disabling and disabling injuries and occupational illnesses, fatalities, fires, and explosions, property damage, chemical spills, and any incident having the potential for property damage or personal injury.
  • Achieve the corporate objective on lost time accident

Requirements

Education:

Bachelors degree in Food Chemistry or Packaging or two years of equivalent work experience preferred

Experience/Background:

The physical sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.) or applied mathematics. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Technical Functional Skills:
