Position Summary:

The Human Resources Intern assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR intern supports with responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment law. The intern is required to be a US Person and should be able to commit at least 20 hours per week.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support recruiting and staffing logistics including updating applicant tracking system and job postings.
  • Support with employee life cycle including pre-employment processes, onboarding, and termination.
  • Support with orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping.
  • Prepare documents, spreadsheets and/or presentations.
  • Track deadlines and priorities of all projects with status updates.
  • Assist with client and employee requests and questions.
  • Assist with employee relations.
  • Assist with company-wide committee facilitation and participation.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping.
  • Support employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting.
  • Maintain employee files and the HR filing system.
  • Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
  • Develop and maintain HR Compliance Knowledge including laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills required to interface with applicants, employees, and management personnel.
  • Candidates must have intermediate skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High initiative and problem-solving skills

Experience & Education

  • Working towards bachelor's degree in business or human resource management required
  • Introductory understanding of legal compliance (EEO, FMLA/Worker's Compensation Laws) preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20 to $20 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
